Immersion English, a pillar of education in the country

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), through the Directorate of Foreign Languages, has graduated between 2021 and 2024 a total of 52,285 students in English Immersion and has awarded a total of 108 thousand scholarships, thanks to the implementation of public policies provided by the Government.
In addition, 280 places have been granted to study French Immersion and 175 of Portuguese Immersion, according to the head of the MESCYT, Dr. Franklin García Fermín.
He reported that in the last 4 years, they have opened centers in areas of Greater Santo Domingo, including the Manuel del Cabral Center, Pantoja (Sto. Dgo. West) METAS Educational Center, Manoguayabo-Hato Nuevo (Sto. Dgo. West) INCANET, Carretera Mella (Sto. Dgo. East)
He also mentioned the Guanuma Labor School (Sto. Dgo. North) Walking with Jesus Church, Ensanche Capotillo (D. N.) Centro Futuro, Cristo Rey (D. N.) Casa de La Juventud, Villa Francisca (D. N.) Montessori Center, Gazcue (D. N.)New Tech – Call Centers (D. N.) “In line with the territorialization policy, we have opened Immersion English in the municipalities of: Paraíso (Barahona), among others.
