Today’s weather: Scattered rains in several provinces

Moisture banks carried by the east/northeast wind towards the country generated some clouds from the early hours of the morning, accompanied by light rains over provinces such as Barahona, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, and Samaná, informed the Dominican Institute of Meteorology.
Indomet added that the wind and a weak trough at low levels approaching the country will continue to bring moisture throughout the day. Therefore, these precipitations, which could occasionally become moderate, will spread to other areas over the provinces: Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Duarte, Sanchez Ramirez, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San Cristobal, San Jose de Ocoa, Santiago, Hermanas Mirabal, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, and Greater Santo Domingo.
The institution recommends that operators of fragile and small boats remain in port from Cabo San Rafael (La Altagracia) to Cabo Cabrón (Samaná) on the Atlantic coast and from Beata Island to Cayo Pisaje (Pedernales) on the Caribbean coast due to wind and abnormal waves. For the rest of the coastal perimeter, navigating close to the coast without venturing offshore is requested due to wind and abnormal waves.
Due to the time of year, temperatures will be cool and pleasant at night and in the early morning hours, mainly in the mountainous areas and valleys of the country’s interior.
What to expect tomorrow
On Monday, the northeast wind will continue transporting cloudy fields over our territory. Expect occasional clouds with scattered rains in provinces such as La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macoris, Greater Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Barahona, Pedernales, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, and Maria Trinidad Sanchez, which will be more frequent during afternoon hours until early evening.
