Carnaval Vegano 2025 set to attract 900,000 visitors
La Vega, DR.- The Carnaval Vegano, one of the Dominican Republic’s most significant cultural celebrations, will take place every Sunday from January to March 2025 in La Vega, drawing an estimated 900,000 visitors. The event will feature 150 carnival groups, over 2,500 Diablos Cojuelos, and 25 preparation spaces (caves) for participants.
With a budget of RD$140 million, the festival will boost the local economy, benefiting businesses and artisans. Around 10-15% of attendees are expected to be foreigners, mainly from Europe, and the event will feature a special delegation from Duquela, Colombia, strengthening cultural ties.
For 2025, a “no bladder” policy will be enforced on the carnival avenue, ensuring a safer and more immersive experience for spectators. These enhancements solidify the Vegan Carnival’s reputation as a premier cultural event in the Caribbean.
OK to entertain the pueblo. However, every Sunday! Wondering if Punta Cana is going to cash in on this show with a carnaval every Sunday?
