Education Ministry to give 1,000 pesos to parents for each student
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Education (Minerd) has launched the “Futuro a Mil” initiative, aimed at supporting families with children enrolled in public pre-university schools. Starting Monday, parents or guardians will receive a one-time payment of 1,000 pesos for each child attending a public educational center.
This initiative, designed to benefit approximately two million students, encourages parents to visit the website futuroamil.gob.do to verify and update their information. Once registered, beneficiaries will receive a text message with a Banreservas Remesas code to withdraw the funds at any commercial branch of the bank.
For those who do not receive the message, parents can register on the website using their identity card and the student’s identification code, which can be obtained from the child’s educational center. The portal is also available for inquiries and to help parents access aid for students at all levels of public education.
US $16 It is something. However, RD $1,000 does not go a long way towards the support the children actually need.
This is to put food on the table nothing about books…
