Propane gas shortage hits Greater Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo.- Consumers in Greater Santo Domingo faced difficulties obtaining propane gas on Tuesday, with some traveling up to 7 kilometers in search of fuel. Many gas bottling plants, particularly in areas like Villa Juana, reported stock shortages, leading to long lines and frustration among users.

According to Listín Diario, at the Tropigas plant in Villas Agrícolas, employees were unable to serve customers due to a lack of supply. Similar scenes played out at the Propagas station on Nicolás de Ovando Avenue, where users expressed anger after visiting multiple locations without success. The shortage has disrupted daily life, affecting households and public transportation that rely on LPG.

Despite growing concerns, consumers claim they have received no clear explanation from plant employees regarding the cause of the fuel shortage.
