Raids in Santiago, 8 arrested

Santiago – Through simultaneous raids carried out by police agents attached to the Cibao Central Regional Intelligence Subdirectorate (Dintel), together with members of the Preventive Police and the Lince unit, accompanied by representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, narcotic substances, communication radios, and scales were seized from eight people who were arrested during the operations.

The report indicates that in the operations, 293 portions of alleged marijuana were confiscated, with a total weight of 449.3 grams, six communication radios, three scales, a mill, and a stapler.

The eight people arrested during the interventions will be investigated. Authorities said one of them is a woman who appears with a complaint against her by the Division of Crimes and High Technology Crimes (Dicat), with a case pending since March 25, 2024. The woman was not identified, as were the other seven people who were arrested with her.

The raids, in compliance with several court orders, were carried out in the sectors of Bella Vista, Los Platanitos, and the Santiago Oeste Municipal District (Cienfuegos).

The confiscated evidence is in the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
