Dominican university delegation promotes academic opportunities in Washington

Washington.- A delegation of Dominican university rectors traveled to Washington, D.C., to showcase the academic quality and opportunities available for foreign students in the Dominican Republic. Led by Wady Ramírez, president of the Dominican Association of Universities (ADOU) and rector of Uniremhos, the delegation met with U.S. Congressman Adriano Espaillat to discuss enrollment benefits for international students. The meeting took place during “Dominicans on the Hill,” an annual event organized by Espaillat to strengthen ties between the Dominican diaspora and their homeland.

The delegation included rectors from UTESA, UFHEC, UNEFA, and UNPHU, along with representatives from the Diaspora and Development Foundation.

As part of this effort, ADOU is working with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MESCyT) to develop a Catalog of Academic Offerings for Foreign Students, aiming to promote Dominican universities and simplify the enrollment process. The initiative seeks to attract more international students and enhance the country’s academic reputation.
