INPOSDOM launches commemorative stamps honoring Dominican National Anthem

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM), in collaboration with the Permanent Commission of Patriotic Anniversaries (CPEP) and the Official Philatelic Commission, has issued a special collection of commemorative stamps dedicated to the Dominican National Anthem. This initiative aims to preserve and promote national identity by featuring verses from the anthem on postage stamps.
The launch ceremony was led by Juan Pablo Uribe, president of CPEP, alongside representatives from INPOSDOM and the Dominican Philatelic Society. Uribe emphasized the patriotic significance of the stamps and their role in celebrating national heritage, particularly during the “Month of the Homeland.” Atala Lluberes, speaking on behalf of INPOSDOM, highlighted the power of stamps as historical ambassadors that reinforce Dominican values.
The collection consists of 24,000 stamps across 12 designs, each featuring a verse from the anthem. Available at INPOSDOM’s Philately Department, the issue honors one of the nation’s most revered symbols. Written by Emilio Prud’Homme and composed by José Reyes in 1883, the anthem was officially adopted in 1934 and remains a powerful expression of Dominican pride and sovereignty.
