Surveyors warn of real estate paralysis due to CEA and National Assets mismanagement

Santo Domingo.- The president of the Dominican Association of Surveyors (Asodagrim), Víctor Torres, has accused the State Sugar Council (CEA) and National Assets, both led by Rafael Burgos Gómez, of severely disrupting the country’s real estate system. Torres called on President Luis Abinader to dismiss Burgos Gómez, citing stalled technical and legal procedures that have paralyzed essential processes for surveyors.
Torres highlighted that over 400 requests for letters of no objection have been pending for more than two years, blocking real estate and surveying projects nationwide. He further stated that the legal consultancy of the CEA has left thousands of files unresolved, creating an economic bottleneck and worsening inefficiencies within the sector.
Asodagrim warned that these bureaucratic delays are negatively impacting the country’s development and urged the government to take immediate action to restore efficiency in National Assets and the CEA.
