Deligne explains why the country is doing well and will continue to improve

Reiterates defense of PRM employees
San Francisco De Macorís — The National Secretary of Organization of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Deligne Ascención, said on Thursday that the positive assessments of the country’s progress respond to the honest administration of public goods, institutional strengthening, and the efficiency of public management, which speaks for its results.
When giving his fifth #ElPaísQueConstruyeLuis conference to leaders and personalities of the provinces of Hermanas Mirabal, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, and Samaná, Ascención reiterated his request to government officials to be considerate of the leaders and militants who have contributed to victories and successes and who constitute the basis of the PRM’s strength.

Senators, mayors, deputies, provincial, municipal, and zonal leaders, PRM and allies, professionals, businessmen, communicators, and other personalities attended the conference, which took place in an atmosphere of fraternity and great enthusiasm.
Ascención stressed that in the first 10 years of existence of the PRM, in such a short life, it has already accumulated a prodigious list of contributions to the country in terms of institutional strengthening and democratic quality, social support for the people, historical economic thrust together with the productive forces, transparency, and control of corruption, crime and violence and a general advance that give our country an international reputation like we have never had.
“We are the most successful party in the present and will continue to be so in the future, for which we must increase our social commitment and service to the people; and to increase the levels of democratic institutionality in society and within our party.”
He added, “We must strengthen the technical, political, and ideological training of our leadership and militancy and develop training and technological updating programs among our cadres; refining methods and procedures to ensure increasingly higher levels of rapprochement and identity with the people; and always have as a north the bonds of friendship and solidarity between our leaders and militants,” he said.
Ascención summarized that despite performing in an adverse international context, in the PRM government, the country reached an economic growth of 5% in 2024, and inflation closed at 3.5 below the expected range, which places the Dominican Republic among the leading economies in the Caribbean and Central America.
He stressed that, in general, through exports of goods, free zones, jobs, and tourism, the Dominican economy maintains a vitality that is expressed in historical achievements.
“These achievements mean that in #ElPaísQueConstruyeLuis, the PRM, allies and the national productive forces are advancing on the poverty and structural backwardness found, but that there are still significant levels of inequality, lack of social cohesion and that work must continue to make the DR a fairer and more inclusive country, to solve in depth different structural services that have never been resolved. and that we are now improving,” he summarized.
We are making progress in health. Our government has also set records in primary care and family insurance, for which we are providing almost total coverage. Nearly all Dominicans are affiliated with Family Health Insurance, and those who are not can apply for it and are affiliated.
The progress of the education system is reflected not only in the most recent Pisa report, with the best historical result in the country in the subjects evaluated, but also in the significant increase in the coverage of initial basic education in the revolutionary school transportation system, the exponential multiplication of technical and professional education through INFOTEP, ITLA, the 14-24 program, the Community Technology Centers and the polytechnics of MINERD; in the unprecedented expansion of new extensions and university cities in the four cardinal points of the country, and a national and international scholarship program that has dramatically multiplied its reach and coverage.
In infrastructure and road connection, the Government of Change has also carried out efficient management, with more than 580 works throughout the national geography, an amount that exceeds any other 4-year management, with greater levels of transparency and democratization of contractors; more inter-regional, provincial, and municipal connections; continuity of state as never before; and undertaking works of great magnitude that other governments did not undertake for fear of the political cost.
Ascención reported that in the so-called northeast Cibao subregion, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications had executed the historic sum of RD$24,668,712,898.46, with 65 completed works worth RD$5 thousand 913 million, 200 thousand 137.66, and 32 works in execution for the sum of RD$13 million 833 million 968 thousand 284.54.
