New toll station on Ecological Avenue begins operations

Santo Domingo.- Starting this Monday at 6:00 a.m., the new toll station on Avenida Ecológica in Santo Domingo Este will be operational. Originally initiated by the previous administration and completed by the current government, the project aims to enhance connectivity between Ciudad Juan Bosch and the Caucedo Multimodal Port, reducing travel times.

Although the official inauguration by President Luis Abinader is scheduled for the coming weeks, authorities opted for an early launch to benefit drivers. Toll revenue will fund road maintenance and upgrades, including asphalting, safety railings, and signage improvements.

Avenida Ecológica, spanning 14 kilometers, connects with the Las Américas highway via Panamericana Avenue, providing an alternative route for freight transport and easing city traffic congestion.
