Santiago Carnival shines with color as a family celebration
Santiago de los Caballeros.- The second Sunday of the Santiago Carnival solidified itself as a day of vibrant celebration and family unity, reinforcing its role in the city’s cultural tradition. Central Park transformed into a colorful spectacle of music, joy, and heritage, drawing families and fostering a deep connection to local customs.
Mayor Ulises Rodríguez praised the event’s success, emphasizing its significance as both a showcase of tradition and a unifying force for the community. “Each smile and encounter reflect our commitment to culture and identity,” he stated. The overwhelming family presence underscored the community’s dedication to preserving its roots and passing traditions across generations.
Performances by Mark B, Urbanda, and Lil Nay added a dynamic musical touch to the festivities. The 2025 Santiago Carnival continues on February 23 and March 2, inviting tourists, families, and carnival groups to partake in this cherished tradition.
