Yeni Berenice outlines commitments for her tenure as Attorney General

Santo Domingo.- Yeni Berenice Reynoso was sworn in as Attorney General of the Republic on Wednesday, outlining key commitments to enhance the institution’s integrity and efficiency. During the inauguration and farewell ceremony for outgoing prosecutor Miriam Germán Brito, Reynoso emphasized her dedication to transparency, honesty, and adherence to constitutional and legal principles. She assured that due process and human rights would be upheld for all individuals, regardless of gender or social status.

Among her priorities, Reynoso committed to strengthening the prosecutorial career path by implementing a structured promotion system, performance-based incentives, continuous training, and a revised salary policy. She also vowed to establish a long-awaited pension fund, acknowledging Germán Brito’s efforts in advancing this initiative. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of accountability within the Public Prosecutor’s Office, ensuring that meritocracy prevails while enforcing disciplinary and penal measures against misconduct.

Reynoso underscored her firm stance against corruption, pledging that it would not infiltrate the institution. She also highlighted plans to improve the penitentiary system, including the construction of a maximum-security prison. To ensure transparency, all commitments will be published on the Public Prosecutor’s Office website, with an audit conducted at the end of her tenure. The ceremony concluded with a farewell tribute to Miriam Germán Brito, who was recognized for her contributions by colleagues and institutional collaborators.
