Dominican Ambassador meets Vatican Secretary of State
Dominican Ambassador Víctor Suárez and his family held a private meeting with Vatican Secretary of State Monsignor Pietro Parolin, where they discussed both national and global matters. During the visit, the ambassador inquired about Pope Francis’ health, noting signs of recovery.
Suárez also shared details about upcoming cultural and religious activities being organized by the Dominican embassy in Rome. These include events for Holy Week in April and a special pilgrimage in May to honor the Virgin of Altagracia, the Dominican Republic’s patron saint. The pilgrimage, supported by the Banco Popular Foundation, will span 200 kilometers and conclude with blessings at St. Peter’s Square. The initiative also marks the beginning of a campaign to promote the Virgin of Altagracia internationally.
