President Abinader honored with Fernando Belaunde Terry Medal of Democratic Values

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader received the prestigious Fernando Belaunde Terry Medal of Democratic Values, awarded by San Ignacio de Loyola University (USIL) in Peru. The honor is given to individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to democracy and freedom, both in Peru and internationally.
The university recognized Abinader for his exemplary political and social leadership in the Dominican Republic and his dedication to democratic principles. In his acceptance speech, Abinader expressed gratitude and admiration for Fernando Belaunde Terry, describing him as a model of honorable, efficient, and transparent governance across Latin America. He pledged to uphold these same values in his leadership.
The award is given after a thorough evaluation to ensure the recipient has a distinguished record in defending democracy and freedom of expression. USIL highlighted that this distinction also serves to keep alive the legacy of former Peruvian President Fernando Belaunde Terry.
