Spain expresses condolences as Jet Set nightclub tragedy claims over 100 lives

Santo Domingo.- The Spanish government offered its condolences to the Dominican Republic on Wednesday following the tragic collapse of the Jet Set nightclub roof in Santo Domingo, which has claimed at least 113 lives, according to the latest official reports. In a statement, Spain expressed solidarity with the Dominican people and emphasized its support for the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
The nightclub, which collapsed early Tuesday morning, had a capacity of more than 1,500 people. While the exact number of attendees remains unknown, rescue efforts continue around the clock in hopes of locating survivors or recovering additional victims. Emergency teams are still working at the scene amid widespread shock and grief.
In response to the tragedy, Dominican President Luis Abinader declared three days of national mourning from April 8 to 10. During this period, national flags will be flown at half-staff at military installations and public buildings across the country in honor of those who lost their lives.
