Baní Beltway temporarily opens to ease Easter traffic flow

Baní.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) has announced the temporary opening of the Baní Beltway from 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, to 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21. This initiative aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the southern region during the busy 2025 Easter holiday period.
According to the MOPC, the provisional opening is part of a coordinated effort to divert long-distance traffic away from the urban center of Baní, thereby improving road safety and easing travel for both residents and holiday travelers. The measure is expected to significantly reduce pressure on local streets and enhance overall traffic flow in the area.
Mixed brigades from DIGESETT and COMIPOL, under the coordination of the Emergency Operations Center (COE) for Operation Holy Week 2025, will be deployed along the route to assist motorists, provide guidance, and ensure safety. The MOPC also reminded drivers to exercise caution, respect speed limits, and follow posted traffic signs. Once the temporary opening ends on April 21, construction will resume at full speed to complete the road as soon as possible.
