MIREX reaffirms Dominican sovereignty amid Haiti migration crisis
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic reaffirmed its sovereign right to enforce immigration laws in response to criticism from Haiti’s Presidential Transitional Council regarding the repatriation of undocumented Haitian migrants. Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), the Dominican government stated that such measures are lawful and essential to safeguarding public order and national stability, especially given the growing risks posed by Haiti’s ongoing humanitarian and security crisis.
