Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov meets President Abinader

Santo Domingo.- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited the National Palace on Wednesday afternoon for an official meeting with President Luis Abinader. The high-level meeting took place in the context of heightened global geopolitical tensions and is part of Lavrov’s broader diplomatic agenda in the region.

Earlier in the day, Lavrov held talks with Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez Gil, where both diplomats delivered a joint statement outlining the topics discussed, including bilateral cooperation and regional stability.

Lavrov’s visit marks a significant milestone, as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and the Dominican Republic, officially commemorated on March 8.
