Belgian agribusiness delegation to visit Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- A Belgian agribusiness delegation will visit the Dominican Republic from May 27 to 31 as part of a trade mission organized by the Dominican Embassy in Belgium in preparation for the Agroalimentaria 2025 trade fair.

The mission aims to strengthen bilateral trade and explore investment opportunities in the Dominican Republic’s agri-food sector. The delegation includes companies specializing in fresh and processed foods, chocolate, logistics, technology, and real estate development. Among the notable participants is Laurent Nys, general manager of Belgium’s largest fresh food market, MABRU.

Led by Dominican Ambassador Joan M. Cedano, the delegation will engage in meetings with public and private sector leaders, visit production centers, and participate in networking events. Their goal is to identify Dominican products suitable for export to Europe and to establish long-term partnerships focused on innovation, sustainability, and the international expansion of Dominican agribusiness.
