Thematic roundtables conclude national dialogue on Haitian crisis

Santo Domingo.- The General Coordinating Committee of the “Dialogue on the Haitian Crisis and its Implications for the Dominican Republic” received the final reports this Monday from six thematic roundtables that spent nearly a month discussing key national issues related to the Haitian crisis. These roundtables addressed topics such as migration, bilateral trade, national security, border development, international relations, and labor.

Held at the UNICARIBE campus, the process concluded ahead of schedule and marks a significant milestone in the national consultation convened by President Luis Abinader, alongside former presidents Hipólito Mejía, Leonel Fernández, and Danilo Medina, under the leadership of the Economic and Social Council (CES).

The effort brought together 84 delegates—14 each from the government, the three former presidents, and the CES sectors (social, labor, and business)—along with moderators, rapporteurs, and national experts, including high-level officials. Additionally, more than 370 citizen contributions were submitted through the online platform OpinaRD, including insights from the Dominican diaspora, broadening public engagement.

The dialogue officially began on June 5 at the National Library and launched its roundtables on June 23, wrapping up in under 30 days. Each table delivered documents outlining areas of consensus, disagreement, and actionable policy recommendations. The CES is now working to consolidate these findings into a Final Report, which will be formally presented to the President and former presidents.

There is nothing to talk about. Deport them all and let them and the international community deal with that jungle. But what they want to talk about is to bring 2 million more Haitians who are going to come and take even more jobs from Dominicans. TRAITORS!
