Bronx celebrates 36th Great Dominican Parade
New York.- The 36th edition of the Great Dominican Parade brought vibrant energy and national pride to the streets of the Bronx this Sunday, uniting thousands of Dominicans and Latin Americans in a colorful celebration of culture and identity.
Authorities praised the event’s organization and used the occasion to reflect on social issues affecting both the local and diaspora communities. Consul General Jesús “Chu” Vázquez Martínez announced that President Luis Abinader will welcome the top 30 Dominican-descendant students living abroad to the National Palace on August 3.
Speaking during the 36th anniversary of the parade, Congressman Adriano Espaillat highlighted the Dominican community’s growing presence and contributions in New York City, especially in the Bronx. He emphasized that Dominicans are not only a strong workforce but also leaders in key areas such as business, politics, education, and culture. Espaillat stressed that the city’s progress is closely tied to the advancement of its Dominican population.
