PUCMM and French Embassy advance joint research initiatives
Santiago de los Caballeros, DR.- The Pontifical Catholic Mother and Teacher University (PUCMM) and the French Embassy in the Dominican Republic presented the accomplishments of the “Research for the Future” project, an academic collaboration aimed at boosting research and knowledge exchange between the Dominican Republic and France. Led by PUCMM’s Vice-Rector’s Office for Research and Innovation, the initiative also included the participation of INTEC and UASD, and was funded by the French Embassy.
As part of the program, 12 Dominican researchers and students took part in internships, congresses, and research missions in both countries. The exchange led to enriched academic experiences, new research collaborations, and the signing of three inter-institutional agreements—two by PUCMM and one by INTEC. Participants shared how the project helped them access doctoral programs, expand their networks, and explore new areas of scientific inquiry.
The project covered a wide range of disciplines including environmental science, mathematics, nanotechnology, microelectronics, and fluid mechanics. Researchers and students engaged in two-month internships guided by Dominican and French mentors, many of whom are now planning advanced studies in France. The initiative is part of a broader agreement signed in October of the previous year to deepen scientific and academic cooperation between the two nations.
