Las Américas tunnel west-east access closed temporarily

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that the west-east access to the Las Américas Avenue tunnel will be closed this Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the removal of a streetlight pole damaged in a weekend accident.

The work is coordinated with the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (EdeEste) to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians. During the closure, motorists are advised to use the upper part of the tunnel as an alternate route.

Authorities emphasized that the Las Américas Tunnel is one of Greater Santo Domingo’s busiest infrastructures and urged residents to plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.
