INDOTEL launches 30,000 digital skills scholarships

Santiago, D.R.- The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (INDOTEL) launched 30,000 scholarships in Santiago through the Digital Talent RD program, offering free training in intermediate and advanced digital skills to break economic barriers and expand access to technology education. The initiative is supported by Cymetria and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The program aims to prepare Dominicans for the evolving digital labor market and entrepreneurial ecosystem, strengthening the country’s ICT sector and promoting innovation, knowledge-based economy, and global competitiveness. Scholarships will be delivered using an intensive Bootcamp methodology, with two tracks: an employability route to enhance professional skills and job readiness, and an entrepreneurship pathway to develop business ideas and support ventures in digital environments.

This initiative builds on previous efforts, including 500 scholarships awarded to public school students through the Student Merit Award in STEM, and is part of the broader Program to Improve Connectivity for Digital Transformation. Interested participants can apply at www.talentodigital.gob.do.
