Aerodom opens advanced waste treatment center at Puerto Plata Airport

Puerto Plata.- Dominican Airports of the 21st Century (Aerodom) has inaugurated a new International Solid Waste Treatment Center at Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata. The facility aims to strengthen biosecurity and environmental protection at the airport.

Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, USDA-APHIS, and OIRSA, the center features a high-tech incinerator with a capacity of 200 kg per hour, meeting the highest international environmental standards.

Aerodom highlighted on social media that the initiative represents a major step toward safer and more sustainable airport operations, aligning with global best practices amid a period of growth and modernization.
