Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), led by Director General Igor Rodríguez Durán, commemorated the 215th anniversary of Mexico’s independence with a floral offering at Querétaro Plaza, located in front of the institution’s headquarters. The ceremony paid tribute to Mexico’s struggle for freedom and its enduring values of justice, sovereignty, and unity.
Rodríguez Durán emphasized IDAC’s commitment to strengthening ties of cooperation and friendship with Mexico, a nation he described as a model of development and cultural identity. “Today, more than ever, it is crucial to reaffirm our collaboration, especially in strategic areas like air transport, which connects our peoples, promotes tourism, boosts trade, and strengthens our cultures,” he stated.
Mexican Ambassador Carlos Miguel Aysa González expressed his sincere gratitude to the Dominican Republic and IDAC for the annual ceremony. “Your commitment to strengthening international bonds between our nations has been evident not only in the aeronautical field but also in cultural and diplomatic areas,” he said. He added that IDAC’s actions reflect the shared values and the future both nations aspire to build together.
The solemn event was attended by various officials, including IDAC Deputy Director Paola Aimée Plá Puello, Ambassador José Tomás Ares from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Major General Francisco A. Ovalle Pichardo from the Ministry of Defense.
