Haitians protest tax withholding at Codevi free trade zone

Santo Domingo.- Hundreds of Haitians staged a peaceful protest at the Codevi free trade zone, objecting to the withholding of taxes by the industrial park at the request of the Haitian government.

Due to the demonstration, Dominican personnel were evacuated, and the National Police increased security on the Dominican side. An urgent meeting is expected to resolve the situation and allow workers to return to their jobs, according to correspondent Goidy Reyes from RC Noticias.
