Marileidy Paulino secures third Diamond League title in Brussels

Brussels.- Marileidy Paulino, the reigning Olympic champion from Paris 2024, clinched her third Diamond League title in the women’s 400m event this Friday in Brussels, with a time of 49.45 seconds. This victory mirrors her wins in the 2022 and 2023 Diamond League seasons.

Paulino, the world’s top 400-meter runner, had previously set a new Diamond League record with a time of 48.66 seconds at the Silesia, Poland event on August 25.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Paulino dominated the women’s 400 meters final with a record-setting time of 48.17 seconds. She outpaced her competitors significantly, with Salwa Eid Nasar of Bahrain and Poland’s Natalia Kaczmarek taking the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
