Dr. Jesús Feris Iglesias publishes memoir on life at sea
Santo Domingo.- Dr. Jesús Feris Iglesias has unveiled his latest work, Anecdotes of a Part-Time Sailor, a book that takes readers on a journey through 34 chapters of maritime adventures. Drawing from his lifelong fascination with the sea, Feris Iglesias shares his experiences as a sailor who, despite being committed to his medical career, found joy and adventure aboard boats whenever possible.
During the book launch at the Museum of Modern Art, Feris Iglesias expressed his excitement about fulfilling his dream of documenting his maritime experiences. The book, which took two years to complete, details his learning and enjoyment of nautical life, from mastering knots to exploring the island’s underwater treasures, including Alto Velo and Los Cayos Siete Hermanas in Monte Cristi.
The event was attended by family, friends, and notable figures from the health, political, and business sectors, all eager to celebrate this new creative chapter in the life of Dr. Feris Iglesias. The memoir highlights his passion for the sea and the lessons he learned along the way, offering readers a glimpse into a world he cherished deeply.
