Santo Domingo.- Sammy Sosa, the first Dominican to reach 600 home runs in Major League Baseball, has reconciled with the Chicago Cubs after two decades, attributing the change to personal growth and faith. Speaking on Abriendo el Pod Cast, Sosa admitted to past mistakes, stating that maturity and humility have helped him move forward. “I have recognized my mistakes, I no longer have the ego I once had. I am calmer and more at peace, thanks to the Lord,” he shared.
Returning to the Cubs’ training camp, Sosa expressed joy in mentoring young players, including fellow Dominican Vidal Bruján, who hit a home run after receiving his advice. The franchise legend, who played 13 seasons with the Cubs and remains their all-time home run leader (545), will soon be inducted into the Cubs Hall of Fame alongside Derrek Lee in a ceremony at Wrigley Field.
