Zoe Saldaña wins the Grand Sovereign

Santo Domingo.- Dominican-American actress Zoe Saldaña has dominated the 2025 awards season, winning Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys, and now the Grand Sovereign at the Soberano Awards for her acclaimed performance in Emilia Pérez.

Born in New Jersey in 1978 to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, Saldaña moved to the Dominican Republic at age nine after her father’s passing. There, she discovered her passion for ballet before returning to the U.S. at 17, where she transitioned to acting. Her career took off with Law & Order and later soared with Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek, and her iconic role as Neytiri in Avatar.
