Marileidy Paulino claims third Diamond League victory in Poland
Silesia, Poland.- Dominican Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino reaffirmed her dominance in the 400 meters by claiming her third victory of the 2025 Diamond League, this time at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia, Poland. She crossed the finish line in 49.18 seconds, narrowly surpassing Bahraini sprinter Salwa Eid Naser (49.27), the 2019 world champion.
This win adds to Paulino’s triumphs in Paris and Monaco, consolidating her as one of the season’s most consistent performers. Despite Naser holding the year’s best mark of 48.67, achieved in Kingston, Jamaica, Paulino has shown remarkable consistency. Norwegian Henriette Jaeger placed third (49.83), followed by Britain’s Amber Anning (50.11) and Poland’s Natalia Bukowiecka (50.16).
After her victory, Paulino highlighted that she is refining the first phase of her race under her coach’s guidance, aiming to break the sub-47 barrier. She added that she avoids distractions before championships and feels mentally and physically prepared for the upcoming World Championship in Tokyo.
