Port Cabo Rojo’s second phase set to open on October 16

Pedernales, DR.- The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) has announced the inauguration of the second phase of Port Cabo Rojo in Pedernales, set for October 16. Coinciding with the inauguration, the port will welcome its third cruise ship, Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas, marking its first visit to Pedernales.

This new phase will feature additional attractions and initiatives aimed at achieving the goal of accommodating 150,000 cruise passengers during the 2025 cruise season. Apordom shared this information via its social media channels, celebrating the ongoing development in the southern region with the message, “We welcome October celebrating great news! The development of the south continues unstoppable!”

Jean Luis Rodríguez, director of Apordom, previously stated that they anticipate around 20,000 tourists will arrive through the port by the end of 2024, with expectations to set a record of 150,000 visitors in 2025.
