Grupo Puntacana diversifies its business vision with free trade zones

Punta Cana — The Puntacana Group reinforces its leadership in the country’s economic development with a commitment to diversification. Through the sector of specialized free zones in the province of La Altagracia, the company expands its reach beyond tourism, consolidating Punta Cana as a pole of innovation and industrial growth.
Francesca Rainieri, the Puntacana Group’s Chief Financial Officer, advanced this information during her participation in one of the panels of the first forum, “Women who Drive,” of the Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores). Haydée Kuret de Rainieri, a member of the Puntacana Group’s Shareholders Council, and Paola Rainieri de Díaz, the group’s Chief Marketing Officer, also participated.
The executives recounted the evolution of the family business and its constant innovation process, highlighting that, although tourism continues to be the central pillar of the Puntacana Group, expansion into other areas is key to its sustainability and growth. Currently, the group has 19 operating companies.
In this sense, Francesca Rainieri mentioned the group’s commitment to manufacturing, a project that seeks to diversify the region’s economy and generate 20,000 jobs.
“It is an investment of more than 200 million dollars, betting on the diversification of the economy of the area,” he explained.
He added that several companies are already beginning to establish themselves in the United States and Europe. According to Diario Libre, the space is intended for specialized areas such as aeronautical mechanics.
Keys to success
For the Rainieri family, success is not a specific key but a path achieved with academic preparation, commitment, and a long-term vision.
“The most important thing is to work with love,” summarized Haydée Kuret, who told how she changed careers because she did not coincide with the appropriate schedules to support her husband, Frank Rainieri.
“In life it is not just about setting goals; The most important thing is to give yourself and give the best you have. Things flourish and that means you have made them with love,” he commented.
In addition to being involved in the company’s development, “Doña Haydée” was a promoter of quality service as an added value, offering the warmth and solidarity that characterize Dominicans. Today, she and her husband have passed business leadership on to their children.
“The greatest success that we have had as Grupo Puntacana is my children,” he said.
