Dominican Republic named guest of honor at 2025 Paris Tourism Fair

Santo Domingo.- The French Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Sonia Barbry, highlighted the importance of the Dominican Republic being the guest of honor at the 2025 International Tourism Fair (IFTM Top Resa) in Paris. This prestigious event, taking place from September 23 to 25, provides a key platform for showcasing global tourism.

Barbry noted that this opportunity will allow the French public to discover the Dominican Republic’s diverse offerings beyond its beaches, potentially increasing the annual number of French tourists, currently around 170,000. She emphasized the significant progress the Dominican Republic has made in infrastructure, stressing the need for French visitors to explore the country’s various opportunities.

The ambassador also underscored France’s global leadership in tourism, as the most visited country in the world, with over 100 million tourists each year. This opens avenues for valuable knowledge exchange in areas such as ecotourism and sustainable tourism.
