Tortuga Bay Punta Cana earns Michelin recognition for excellence in luxury hospitality

Punta Cana.- Tortuga Bay Puntacana has been awarded a Michelin Key, the highest recognition from the Michelin Guide for world-class hotels distinguished by exceptional quality, service, and hospitality. This new Michelin Keys system evaluates hotels based on guest experience, service, design, authenticity, and contribution to sustainable tourism, expanding the guide’s focus beyond gastronomy.

The guide highlights Tortuga Bay Puntacana’s privacy, exclusivity, and access to the Puntacana Resort complex, where guests enjoy Oscar de la Renta-designed villas, private beaches, golf courses, a spa, polo field, ecological reserve, and a full-service marina. With just 13 villas, the resort offers personalized experiences including diving, sailing, and children’s programs, setting it apart among boutique hotels.

This recognition places Tortuga Bay Puntacana among the elite of global luxury hotels, enhancing the Dominican Republic’s reputation as a high-end tourism destination. The Michelin Guide honors over 5,000 hotels and restaurants worldwide, including destinations such as the United States, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, the UK, and the Caribbean.

Designed by Oscar de la Renta and renovated in 2017 by Markham Roberts, Tortuga Bay Puntacana exemplifies sustainable luxury tourism within the Puntacana Resort, a low-density destination with three miles of white-sand beaches, 45 holes of world-class golf, and home to the Dominican Republic’s first PGA TOUR, solidifying its position as a premier Caribbean resort.
