Avelo Airlines to connect Connecticut to Punta Cana

Start-up airline Avelo Airlines will connect Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, with Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic beginning Friday, Feb. 21.
The new flights will operate twice a week (Monday and Friday) and will complement the services to Cancun (Mexico) and Montego Bay (Jamaica) in the Caribbean.
With the aforementioned flight to the DR from Hartford, the airline incorporates five new routes, four from New Haven, all starting in February, which continues to consolidate itself as a key player in regional aviation in the United States with the expansion of its frequency network from Connecticut.
By adding the five new routes, Avelo will operate 39 services from Connecticut: 31 from New Haven and eight from Hartford. Promotional fares start at $39 each way, and tickets can be purchased from the airline’s website.
“We love Connecticut and are excited to continue expanding our presence here with these five new exclusive destinations. With 39 route options, Avelo offers Connecticut travelers more choice, affordability and convenience than any other airline operating in the state. And when you combine that with our industry-leading reliability, it’s no surprise that nearly 3 million customers have entrusted their air travel to Avelo since we first flew here three years ago,” said Andrew Levy, founder and CEO of Avelo Airlines.
