Pacheco highlights Dominican diaspora’s role in national development

Washington, DC.- Chamber of Deputies President Alfredo Pacheco reaffirmed the importance of Dominicans abroad during the “Dominicans in the Capitol” event, recognizing their contributions to the nation’s progress. He expressed gratitude to Congressman Adriano Espaillat for his leadership in supporting the Dominican community in the U.S. and for fostering discussions on national identity and future opportunities.

Pacheco emphasized his commitment to addressing diaspora concerns, noting his role in establishing the Commission for Dominicans Abroad to transform their needs into policies. As a symbolic gesture, he distributed copies of the Dominican Constitution, underscoring its importance as a guide to democracy and national unity.

Alongside Senate President Ricardo de los Santos, Pacheco honored Espaillat for his longstanding support of Dominicans in the U.S. He urged continued collaboration to uphold Dominican heritage and strengthen the community’s impact both locally and internationally.
