Eleven members of Dominican Don’t Play gang arrested in Madrid

Madrid.- Spanish police have dismantled one of the most violent cells of the Dominican Don’t Play (DDP) gang in Madrid, arresting eleven individuals, ten of whom are now in pretrial detention. The investigation began in January after a brutal, mistaken-identity attack on a young man who suffered permanent spinal injuries. The victim was targeted simply for being in a neighborhood controlled by the rival Trinitarios gang.

The attack was part of a revenge mission following a previous shooting that injured five DDP members. Failing to locate Trinitarios members that night, the DDP gang assaulted the innocent man instead. Between July 8 and 9, police raided nine properties, seizing weapons, gang-related symbols, electronic devices, and a vehicle linked to the crime.

The detained members of the “4 Chorros Choir” (a faction of DDP) face charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, and membership in a criminal organization. Authorities view the operation as a major blow to DDP’s influence in the Carabanchel area of southern Madrid, with remaining members under close surveillance.
