U.S. approves United and JetBlue partnership

United States.- JetBlue Airways and United Airlines have received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to move forward with their strategic alliance, known as the Blue Sky partnership. The collaboration aims to enhance customer experience through shared services and streamlined booking.

Beginning in fall 2025, travelers will be able to book flights on either airline’s website or app, earn and redeem points across both frequent flyer programs—JetBlue’s TrueBlue and United’s MileagePlus—and enjoy mutual loyalty perks like priority boarding and extra-legroom seating.

The agreement also includes expanded slot access: JetBlue will allow United up to seven daily roundtrip slots at JFK’s Terminal 6 starting in 2027. Additionally, the airlines will exchange eight flight slots at Newark Liberty International as part of a neutral network adjustment.

United will also integrate JetBlue’s Paisly platform into its digital services, enabling travelers to book hotels, rental cars, cruises, and insurance through United’s website and app.
