OAS develops action plan to support Haiti
Washington.- The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Albert Ramdin, inaugurated the first session of the Group of Friends of Haiti on Wednesday, aimed at developing a comprehensive roadmap to tackle the ongoing humanitarian and security crisis in the country.
The proposed roadmap, soon to be presented to the OAS Permanent Council, will focus on five key pillars: security stabilization, humanitarian response, political consensus, electoral legitimacy, and sustainable development. Ramdin emphasized that the initiative stems from a mandate issued during the recent OAS General Assembly and aims to address Haiti’s pressing governance and public safety challenges.
