Come clean with taxpayer’s money, Transparency tells presidency hopefuls
Santo Domingo.- Transparency International president Huguette Labelle on Tuesday urged the presidential candidates to be transparent in the use of the taxpayers money received for their campaign.
She said the presidential hopefuls should state the measures they’d implement to improve transparency, and confront corruption and poverty.
Labelle spoke after a meeting with opposition PRD party vice presidential candidate luis Abinader and other of its leaders, as well as with the executives of the civic group Citizen Participation (PC), in the national headquarters of the PRD presidential candidate Hipólito Mejía.
The head of Transparency and PC executives are also meeting with ruling PLD party presidential candidate Danilo Medina, in his campaign offices.
