Campaign chiefs meet to put an end to clashes
Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Roberto Rosario met with the presidential candidates’ campaign chiefs on Monday, to coordinate their activities until May 18 nationwide, aimed at preventing clashes between their rank and file, prevent alcohol consumption and the use of firearms in their rallies.
Rosario said the campaign chiefs promised to halt alcohol consumption and the use of weapons by people without security functions.
For its part, the official said the JCE places at the disposal of the political parties the Electoral Military Police, aimed at protecting the activities staged by the political parties.
