Spanish police seize 277 kilos of cocaine from the Dominican Republic

Madrid.– Spanish police seized 277 kilos of cocaine hidden in a container of bovine hides from the Dominican Republic that arrived at the port of Barcelona (northeastern Spain), in an operation in which nine people were arrested.

The police agents learned of the drug through various anonymous citizen complaints received since September in the email account antidroga@policia.es.

Some of the emails indicated the existence of a Dominican group that would distribute cocaine in Madrid, but the police did not provide further details.

In the first investigation the police detected the arrival of a container with 20,000 kilos of bovine hides from the Dominican Republic in which dozens of packages of cocaine had been hidden.
