Airline issue strands hundreds of Dominicans at NY airport
Santiago, Dom. Rep.- Hundreds of Dominican passengers who were about to return to their country are stranded at New York’s Kennedy Airport since Monday, on delays of JetBlue airlines flight to Santiago.
A Santiago International Airport official confirmed the delay, citing internal corporate issues they affirm have nothing to do with the terminal.
At least three flights were reported canceled for various reasons, snarling travel plans of hundreds of passengers and exhausting crews. Also mentioned were bad weather and mechanical problems in aircraft covering the Santiago-JFK route, while local media quote people upbeat on a quick solution.
Many Dominicans come for summer vacation this time of year, while others plan to travel on holiday to the U.S.
