Medina accepts Martelly’s invitation to visit Haiti
CADIZ, Spain.– Haitian President Michel Martelly spread his counterpart Danilo Medina an invitation to travel to Haiti in January.
After confirming the visit, Medina said that the Dominican Republic will work with Haiti reforestation process that takes place in the neighboring country and provide assistance aimed to benefit the Haitian population affected by natural phenomena.
"Haiti and the Dominican Republic are not only brothers but Siamese countries. Dominican Republic and Haiti are living a great moment in their relationship, which will allow the two governments potencializarlas benefit of all the inhabitants of the island, "Medina said after a meeting with President Martelly hours before the opening of the XXII Summit of Heads of State and Government.
Medina will return to Haiti in April to participate in the meeting of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), which will be held in Port au Prince.
Martelly also invited the first lady Candida Montilla of Medina to discuss issues related to programs developed through his office.
