Minority party taps veteran politico as presidential candidate
Santo Domingo.– Veteran politico Hatuey De Camps, head of the minority Social Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRSD), was proclaimed yesterday as the presidential candidate of that organization and received special powers to negotiate an electoral alliance with a view to the upcoming elections.
The decision was taken during the 5th Congress "Hector Aristy," held at the Socialist International headquarters with the attendance of 396 delegates representing 72.7 percent of the party’s members.
The assembly was supervised by four inspectors from the Central Electoral Board (JCE).
