Venezuela requests to pospone Dominican Republic-Haiti talks

Santo Domingo.– The binational talks between the Dominican Republic and Haiti were postponed for the fourth time at Venezuela’s request, and was set for next Thursday, 8 May in Petion-Ville, Haiti.

According to the Dominican Presidency website, the new postponement was made at the request of Venezuela Foreign Relations minister Elias Jaua. The third binational meeting had been scheduled for Tuesday, 6 May in Jacmel, in southern Haiti.

Commerce minister Jose del Castillo said Thursday everything was ready for the meeting, which is part of the binational talks proposed by Venezuela in the heels of the uproar over the Constitutional Court ruling on nationality.
