Catholic bishops support bill to naturalize foreigners’ descendants
Santo Domingo.- The Catholic bishops of Santiago, San Pedro and La Altagracia (Higuey) provinces on Sunday stated their support of the bill to naturalize descendants of foreigners and regularize immigration, and asked the Senate to approve the legislation which the Chamber of Deputies already passed Friday.
Ramón Benito de la Rosa, of Santiago; Francisco Ozoria, of San Pedro; José Grullón, of San Juan and Nicanor Peña, of Higuey lauded president Danilo Medina for the legislative proposal they say resolves a problem in a legal and humane manner.
Grullón also called it a prudent and balanced action, and urged the Senators to approve it immediately.
